CONSUMER CONFIDENCE INDEX IS UP, rising from 86.4 in June to 90.9 in July, an especially good omen for Arrowhead Woods. When in doubt a mountain home purchase can be put on hold. Economist believe the third quarter will have continued growth. We can feel it here as our agents enjoy a surge of home shoppers in the past 3-4 weeks, greater than we’ve seen in some time.
PRICES ARE STILL SENSITIVE, up a whopping 30% for the year as sales slip 17%, 40 days behind the count at this time last year.
We’re going to be including price per square foot in all of our reports as an easy ‘rule of thumb’ when comparing homes, new or re-sale, any size, age or condition. Buyers, sellers and appraisers can understand a rise or fall of $10 per square foot easier than evaluating many distinctly different home styles. Measuring value, there is less volatility as shoppers trade rising prices for smaller homes.
JULY SALES, PRICES, COST PER SQUARE HAVE MID-SUMMER SNOOZE.
JULY 2014: 28 HOMES SOLD IN ARROWHEAD WOODS. MEDIAN $350,000
