Last week, we attended Coldwell Banker International Conference in Chicago, a special treat as it is the city of my birth. The theme of the program, from my point of view was to “Tell a Story” which touched my data driven heart. You may remember the Super Bowl television ads with the dogs … I got the message!
Our local group was Steve and Jamie Keefe, Tom and Val Przbylowicz, Michelle and Nate Calkins, Patsy and Bob Bailey. We think we ate at every Italian restaurant in the loop area, three times a day… while Lake Arrowhead was getting four inches of rain… thank God for protecting our forest.
Adding to our personal fun was being with my brother Tom and sister in law Shirley inBensenville for a few days. This was the northwest side, but I was raised on the South side, with my first adult home in Palos Heights IL. We met with Patsy’s high school chum from Dallas, now a Chicago Art Dealer, and of all things learned that his daughter graduated from St Ignatius High School, the same school a generation earlier that gets credit for my Jesuit education, faith and discipline… though never to be forgotten is my Dad’s dictum “never give up”.
Home again, on Sunday we were on the Arrowhead Queen, to hear the history and homes of the famous and rich movie stars, moguls and the founding of our lake. From Rim of the World Historical Society, Russ Keller, Ralph Wagner and Jack Cooperman educated and entertained about 60 locals.
